Competitive Swimming Scholarship Information
Scholarships are available to families based on financial need. Please email Finance Director with questions on availability or to apply.
Qualification Process
NSST Competitive Swimming Scholarship Form
- Family fills out NSST Competitive Swimming Scholarship Form and emails photo/scanned/attachment of enrollment letter/supporting documentation (see list below) to Finance Director ([email protected]).
- Finance Director follows up to verify enrollment letter/supporting documentation if not received (see list below).
- Once form is completed and documentation received and verified, Finance Director contacts family to let them know of approval.
- Finance Director notifies Head Coach for approval
Scholarship Application Supporting Documentation:
- Academic Benefits Enrollment (previously known as school-lunch program)
- SNAP Benefits
- MNSURE/MEDICAID
- Extreme Need Status (see below)
The scholarship application process is completed annually and does not carry over from year to year (will accept first application at any point; subsequent applications must be submitted prior to registration opening in August for next fiscal year).
Scholarship for Qualified Families
Athletes from Qualified Families will receive:
- Annual registration fee
- 50% discount on group dues (40% for Sirius Select)
- NSST team tee and team cap
Qualified Families are responsible for:
- $5 USA Swimming/MN Swimming Outreach Membership (required of all swimmers)
- Meet fees (optional participation, though strongly encouraged)
- Teamwear sold by third parties (Swim Outlet, Magnetic Spark)
In the case of Extreme Need (2025 Federal Poverty Guidelines), Qualified Families will receive a 75% dues discount.
North Star Swim Team (NSST) Scholarship Group Dues
- 50% dues discount for Sirius, Polaris, Orion, and Dippers training groups
- 40% dues discount for Sirius Select training group (Sirius Select is by invitation for our highest level swimmers; members are required to swim in club meets)
- 75% dues discount for all groups if meets Extreme Need Status (see below)
Extreme Need Scholarship:
Extreme Need will be assessed by the 2025 ASPE Poverty Guidelines. Finance Director will request to see the most recent W2 or unearned income statement for verification. NSST will NOT hold sensitive information beyond the approval step for safety purposes.
